Ryanair says it is considering temporary pay freezes as it forecasts a €2bn rise in its fuel bill following the US-Israel war with Iran, warning that high fuel prices could persist well into 2027.

Ryanair is considering a temporary wage freeze for staff as it seeks to cover a sharp rise in fuel costs triggered by the US-Israel war with Iran.
The airline said it expects fuel prices to remain high "well into 2027" unless there is a "swift resolution" to the conflict.
Ryanair said its fuel bill is forecast to be €2bn (£1.6bn) higher in the short term as a result of the spike in prices.
The carrier expects European airfares to increase to help cover the additional cost. However, it said higher fares were unlikely to be enough on their own to absorb the full impact.
Among a number of measures it is weighing up, the airline said it is looking into "temporary pay freezes" for its workforce.
The BBC has contacted Unite, the union which represents Ryanair employees, for comment.
