An internationally coordinated operation on 3 November 2026 has struck at the infrastructure of an investment fraud scheme with potential victims in more than 50 countries, according to Europol. During the coordinated action, investigators seized more than 100 servers and arrested seven suspects.
The operation involved authorities in Albania, Cyprus, Finland, Germany, Kosovo* and North Macedonia, with support from Europol and Eurojust. The German Itzehoe Public Prosecutor's Office led the investigation.
The seizure of the servers represents the core of the action day, dismantling the technical infrastructure that underpinned the suspected fraud scheme. Europol confirmed the arrests and seizures in its announcement of the coordinated operation.
Investment fraud schemes of this type typically reach victims across multiple jurisdictions, which is why the investigation drew on cross-border cooperation. Eurojust's involvement reflects the judicial coordination needed to execute warrants and arrests across the participating countries.
Europol and Eurojust routinely provide operational and analytical support to joint investigations of this kind, helping national authorities align enforcement action across borders. In this case, that coordination enabled simultaneous action by law enforcement in the six participating jurisdictions.
Europol published the details of the operation on 3 November 2026. Further investigative steps, including the examination of the seized servers, are expected to continue under the direction of the Itzehoe Public Prosecutor's Office.
